The D.R.E.A.M. Life

Updated: Jul 24

Have you ever avoided cleaning a room to the point you just stopped using it? It seems like every time you walk by it or think about it you get this feeling of anxiety, frustration, or depression? This is an example of how emotionally, mentally, and energetically connected our internal and external environments are. Your self-love environment is both your internal and external environment as a whole and is made up of five key elements that we like to call the 5 Cornerstones of a thriving self-love environment. Their maintenance, balance, and flow are essential to their ability to encourage creativity, expression, expansion, and the evolution of self.

1. Routine- Your routine is the thread that connects all aspects of your self-love environment. It is the reflection of the way we regulate ourselves from processing our emotions to navigating stress. Creating time and space are the gifts we use to cultivate a routine that encourages creativity, expression, expansion, and evolution. Our routine must include time and space for emotional wellness and keeping it R.E.A.L., quality time with yourself and your tribe, play, optimal rest, authentic action towards your goals, and must always be in alignment with your highest good and self-preservation. An efficient routine is balanced in the amount of energy it requires and the way it replenishes. Flexibility is another component of your routine that helps you to pivot, adjust, and rebalance when needed. Flexibility also keeps us in flow with our journey.

2. Living Space- We can learn a lot about our mood, energetic frequency, and ourselves by paying attention to our living space. It is the closest reflection of our internal environment that we get to see presented in our external environment. This intimate relationship that our living space has with our internal environment can be used to our advantage. By harnessing our intention we can create a living space that inspires us and supports clarity, authenticity, security, and safety. There is a wonderful and magical feeling that comes with a living space that embraces us as we embrace ourselves. If you're feeling low in energy or struggling with heavy/difficult emotions, take a look around your living space and notice opportunities to nurture yourself during this experience. Is it tidy? Is there uplifting music, or sunlight shining in it? Are there affirmations on the walls and mirrors? Are there pictures of loved ones and core memories? Are paintings, sculptures, or books around? Taking care of your living space is taking care of you. Even if it is just a room or a space in a room, it is yours and you can make it suitable for the love that dwells within it.

3. Relationships- At SenterME, we focus on the relationship that matters the most, our relationship with ourselves. This relationship is the standard of all the relationships that surround you. The way we respond to ourselves and how much space we require are both learned and mature through the relationship with self. This shows up in the relationships that we share with others by what we allow, how we self-advocate, and the space love has to express, be creative, and evolve. Do you trust yourself? Are you honest with yourself? Do you communicate healthily with yourself? Do you keep it R.E.A.L. with yourself? Do you create time and space to align yourself with balance, your highest good, and self-preservation? How responsible for you are you in relationships and is this reflected in a healthy way between you and the individuals you share relationships with?

Relationships are highly influential so being emotionally well, secure in knowing who you are, and clear on what you desire and your intention is essential before building healthy relationships with others.

4. Career- Your career plays a huge role in helping you to mature in your natural gifts and talents whether directly or indirectly. What are you learning about yourself in your career? Does what you do for a living feel like play most times? In other words, are you enjoying yourself? Are you expanding in your career? Is what you do now contributing in any way to the vision of how you want to serve your community and humanity? These are questions that help us to gain more clarity on what we desire from ourselves and how we want to express our natural gifts and talents. Questions like these can also help you get closer to the career that aligns with your highest good in this season of your life. No value comes from efforts that lack intention and vision. Your 'why' is essential in your career and will surely encourage unleashed creativity, intentional expression, strategic expansion, and constant evolution.

5. Hobbies- We have saved the best for last! Of all the 5 cornerstones of a thriving self-love environment, our hobbies remind us that life from the beginning to the end is play. Our hobbies create time and space for pure enjoyment. They inspire creativity, replenish our enthusiasm for life, and reconnect us with our inner child. There is healing and grounding that we experience when we include hobbies in our routine. We mature in our gifts and talents, nurture our relationships, and learn more about ourselves by simply enjoying ourselves in play. Explore hobbies, try new hobbies, try hobbies with friends and family, try hobbies with yourself, try hobbies in the air, try hobbies in the ocean, try hobbies in nature, try hobbies in the kitchen! There are so many ways we have created to play that we can try hobbies until trying is impossible. Hobbies are essential to maintaining balance and optimal mental and physical health.
